Suicide Prevention Resource Launch
Thursday, May 4
5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Ulrich Museum of Art (1845 Fairmount St, Wichita, KS)
It goes without saying that it can be difficult to talk about suicide. So difficult, in fact, that we usually avoid the topic entirely. But there’s a reason to push through these uncomfortable feelings and learn how to talk about feeling bad. Research suggests communication is central to treating mental illness and reducing the number of people we lose to suicide.
Join us in celebrating the release of a brand-new mental health resource for our community! ‘How to Talk About Feeling Bad’ is meant to be a toolbox you can use to begin the project of talking about mental health, accessing support, and ultimately helping yourself and the people around you.
The guide features local artwork, stories, and resources in English and Spanish. Pick up your copy while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and artwork addressing mental health issues.
This zine is made possible by the Wichita Journalism Collaborative which has been focused on improving the quality of journalism in our community on the topic of mental health over the last couple of years.
