Introducing News Connect, the pop-up newsroom brought to you by the Wichita Journalism Collaborative! Our coalition of 11 media outlets and community partners is piloting a unique opportunity for members of the public to interact with local journalists. Join the conversation and contribute to the stories that shape our community.
Starting June 15, we’re bringing you a unique opportunity to interact with journalists from various local newsrooms every Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On some Thursdays, there will be scheduled programming such as listening sessions to dive deep into the housing challenges in our community, discussions on election issues, dialogue with city officials on community matters, etc. Other weeks, the Rolland Eakins TEC-Novation Room will be an open newsroom where representatives from the Wichita Journalism Collaborative will be present for you. Ask burning questions, engage in meaningful conversations, and gain insights into the stories that shape our community. It’s an open invitation for dialogue, learning, and growth.
It’s a chance to voice your opinions, share your stories, and together, explore potential solutions. And that’s not all—how about joining us for an open Wichita Journalism Collaborative meeting? Get an insider’s look at the collaborative’s workings and contribute to shaping the future of journalism in our city.
So, what are you waiting for? Join us at the Advanced Learning Center Library, where the News Connect pop-up newsroom is reimagining how you experience journalism. We’re calling out to all news enthusiasts, curious minds, and community-driven individuals. This is your chance to engage. We hope to see you on Thursdays at the library!
